2008-06-28 — Blue Mesa Taco and Tequila Bar at DFW: delicious

While stranded for awhile today in Dallas / Forth Worth airport due to a visually amazing thunder and lightning storm, my travelling companion and I walked around terminal D to find somewhere to eat. We ended up at the Blue Mesa Taco and Tequila Bar, where I was very impressed with the number of vegetarian items on the menu. I ended up getting the avocado and pesto quesadilla, which was extremely delicious (apparently at the restaurant's normal Blue Mesa Grill locations, it also includes sundried tomatoes, which would make it even more irresistible to me). It was definitely the best food I've ever had in an airport (the chips were the only thing that weren't excellent), and made me sad that there aren't any Blue Mesa locations in Orange County. I would definitely go regularly if there were.

Anyhow, if you're ever looking for something to eat in DFW terminal D, I can highly recommend Blue Mesa.

Update, 2011-09:
I went through DFW on a domestic flight this month, and I rode the tram around to the international terminal so I could eat at Blue Mesa before my next flight. The quality of the food didn't bowl me over this time like it had on my first visit, but it was still top-notch for airport terminal food.
